During Sunsets for Kate, I have invited others to share a sunset story. This post is from Thankyou, a social enterprise in Australia.
Our Chief Impact Officer, Pete Yao, loves a sunset photo so we thought he would be perfect for this opportunity. Pete works with our project partners and recently went to Vanuatu to visit a water, hygiene and sanitation program we are helping fund.
Pete Yao, Thankyou from Melbourne, Australia
Where and when was the sunset taken?
This was taken in November 2016, in the central waterfront of Port Vila, Vanuatu.
Why were you inspired to capture that moment?
Thank you Pete for sharing this sunset. I think it is wonderful that Thankyou is improving the lives of so many, with 100% of their profits funding safe water, food and hygiene and sanitation services around the world.
During Sunsets for Kate, I don’t only want a social media feed full of sunsets. I want to show, even though I may no longer see sunsets, there are millions around the world who will see sunsets, yet, I will still be more fortunate than them. Thankyou were the first to support this idea to share sunsets with special background stories.
Chapter One is more than a book. It’s an invitation, addressed to you. To inspire you to challenge what you know and remind you that crazy ideas can become a reality. – Thankyou
Daniel, I look forward to reading Chapter Two.
